Psychotherapy Policies & Fees

The therapeutic relationship is unique in that it is a highly personal and, at the same time, a contractual agreement. Given this, it is important for both parties to reach a clear understanding about how the therapy relationship works. Informed consent for treatment provides a clear framework for therapeutic work.

Risks & Benefits: It is a very positive step to decide to seek therapy. The outcome of treatment depends largely on a person's willingness to engage in this process, which may at times result in considerable discomfort. Remembering unpleasant events and becoming aware of feelings attached to those events can bring on strong feelings of anger, sadness, anxiety, etc. There are no miracle cures. I cannot promise that your behavior or circumstance will change. I can promise to support you and do my very best to help you gain insight into the issues you struggle with, as well as to help you clarify what it is that you want for yourself.

Confidentiality: Session content and all relevant materials to the client’s treatment is confidential unless the client requests in writing to have all or portions of such content released to a specifically named person/persons. There are other limitations to confidentiality , which we would discuss in our first session.

Licensing: For all forms of psychotherapy, I am licensed in and work online with those who reside in MA, NH, CA, VT, and ME. I work with coaching clients residing in any state.

Fees & Insurance: I am currently in the process of getting credentialed for several insurance panels. This process is different for each company and for each state, so for accurate information please reach out. At this time, I am in-network with the following: Aetna (ME and VT), Anthem BCBS (VT) and Quest (MA, NH, ME and VT). For folks who have a PPO (with any company), I provide a Superbill to submit for reimbursement. Typically, PPO's reimburse between 75% and 100%. For those who prefer to pay privately (so personal information doesn't get shared/stored with their insurance company), my fee for individual psychotherapy is $200. I have a sliding scale that is based on an individual's access to resources. For relationship psychotherapy, my fee is $250. My fee for coaching is $250 per session.
